Old memories

Most part of the last week and this week I woke up pretty early in the morning. Any cricket buff would answer the question "WHY”. Ok let me tell you the reason…. I was watching India Vs New Zealand first Test match.

These matches reminded me my school days. Cricket matches in Australia or New Zealand start before dawn (according to IST). Being a hardcore fans of cricket, along with my brothers I used wake up early (of course with use of alarm.) just to watch the match.

Generally my dad and mom are very sportive but they used to become furious when we wake up early to see the match and not to study. So, we used bluff them. There was a small portable TV at our home those days. We used to switch on the TV and put the volume to zero and decrease all the brightness so that it would be tuff for my parents to figure out that the TV is actually on.

When no one is around we used to increase the brightness and see the score and decrease it again. Mean while we used to pretend studying. This went for a long time.  Now-a-days we don’t it any more but still wake up early to see the matches.

Just before finishing my post I would like to mention the knocks from Sachin and Laxman in first and second test matches respectively which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Recession time.....

There’s a famous quote on recession. “A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose your job“.

Last week I have virtually seen the Recession. Anil (my friend and roommate) was supposed to be flying to Germany for a long term assignment. Every thing was going very smoothly. All the paper work was done. His got his visa stamping. Done the shopping and even got his flight tickets. He was very happy with the proceedings

After postponing the departure date for more than couple of times, just 2 days before his take off, he was told that the project is called off and he’ll not be traveling to Germany. It was shocker of his life.  Rubbing salt on the wound…. He was asked to take leave as he was on bench (technical term to describe that employee is not tagged to any project and was sitting idle). It was really a roller coaster ride for him (or even more than that) which ended terribly.

But there is some grace for me during these tuff times. I got a single digit hike which was unexpected (I can say biggest single digit)

Get Well Soon

In my first post I promised to come back very soon but, definitely not in this fashion.

I always used to worry about my grandpa returning home late after his evening walk. It was shocking news for me when my grandma said he met with an accident yesterday night.

Today he was operated and is recovering well.Just wishing he will back to his normal life soon.

Kick Off...

Kick off…. That’s what we call when a new project is initiated. In a year time, I was part of 2 such meetings. Thought, it would be apt for my first post.

Almost whole day I spent thinking of a name for my blog. Atlast finalized “back-wall”. It’s one of the aisles in Woolies where I used to work during my stay in Sydney.

Want to thank “kreee” (that is how he is called these days) for his lecture on blogging which motivated me to start this J.

I want my first post to be short and sweet….will finish it here. But, will be back very soon with some exciting stuff.
